BULLY: a redeeming experience

Tags: ye new album BULLY review

After a totally unpredictable rollout and indefinite delays, we got BULLY from Ye a little later than promised, but that's totally fine because the album was awesome! Listening to this was like the first time I heard Donda or KSG. You can really feel the attention to detail and care put in to every track. And Ye knows he's a good rapper, so that's why we got so many good verses on this project. There we're no skips. First impressions we're so uplifting, well executed. People were afraid of AI use and sample problems, but there were no signs of either and it was a smooth listen all the way through. I personally wasn't a huge fan of LAST BREATH. But I really loved PUNCH DRUNK, HIGHS AND LOWS, BROTHERS AND SISTER, FATHER (w/ Travis), and WHATEVER WORKS. A personal and heartfelt collection of tracks that aren't diluted with controversy or external input. It really does feel like an old KanYe album but made for 2026. Definitely gonna be playing these tracks for a long while. The sample loops, synth bass, and lo-fi textures on the instrumentals make it a classic KanYe experience. The autotuned singing and raw emotional lyrics bring this whole project to life. Not over bloated with unneeded features. I was worried particularly about the 9 viscous 🥸 features but thankfully there weren't any. Just pure authentic Ye-ness all the way through.

Now I'm gonna go listen to this new Earl and MIKE EP, followed by Chief Keef's album, and then try to spin the Yeat album again. I really want to like ADL, and there are good moments on the album. My main issue is that it doesn't feel like a YEAT album. It feels too influenced, like I said before. I don't know I'm gonna have to give it time. or I could just continue listening to 2 Alive and the other classic Yeat albums like I always have been lol. ADL or not, Yeat is a goat, I just wanna get that across cuz I feel like my critique yesterday was too heavy :P
